VIDEO: What Makes the CSNews Foodservice Summit Special?

NAPA, Calif. — 2017 marks the sixth year that Convenience Store News and Tyson Convenience have partnered to host the Convenience Store News Foodservice Summit. It’s truly a unique event that brings together leading convenience foodservice retailers for education, inspiration and roundtable discussions on issues faced by the entire convenience store industry.

This year’s CSNews Foodservice Summit, held primarily at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in California’s Napa Valley, featured a wide variety of foodservice learning experiences, such as:

  • A guided tour of the Oxbow Public Market, a huge indoor marketplace for organic and sustainably produced, local food;
  • A retail foodservice immersion seminar custom-designed by CIA chefs/instructors; and
  • An interactive breakfast discussion with Trader Joe’s former president Doug Rauch.

“We get to be members of a unique channel that’s really a community. We’re all in this foodservice thing together, and the Foodservice Summit is a great representation of what that looks like,” said CSNews Editorial Director Don Longo.

Participants in the 2017 Summit, held in April, included foodservice executives from 7-Eleven, BP/ampm, Circle K, Country Fair, Kwik Trip, Maverik, RaceTrac, Rutter’s Farm Stores and Wawa.
