Wawa Hosts Summer Blood Drive
WAWA, Pa. -- Through the end of August, Wawa Inc. is hosting more than 25 blood drive sites in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia, with hopes to secure 2,000 pints of blood to help The American Red Cross maintain a stable blood supply during the critical summer season.
During the past five years, more than 10,000 points of blood have been collected at Wawa's blood drives, which are open to the public. The drives, located in Wawa stores and other Wawa locations, as well as other sites, are staffed by Wawa volunteers who donate time and blood.
All donors receive a coupon for a free pint of Wawa's 100-percent juices.
Residents in the four participating states may schedule an appointment to donate by calling 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. Residents in Wawa's Delaware markets may donate blood by calling the Blood Bank of Delmarva at 1-888-8-BLOOD-8.
Wawa associates have supported the American Red Cross blood drives for more than two decades, the company noted.
