Wawa Preps for Triple-Play Opening in South Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Wawa Inc. will open its first three south Florida stores on March 23. The convenience store chain released a "Save the Date" notice for the grand openings this week.

The notice did not state which store will be the first to open, but that information is forthcoming, said spokeswoman Lori Bruce, reported the Sun-Sentinel

Wawa previously listed four Palm Beach County c-stores as opening in spring 2017:

  • 3950 S. Congress Ave. in Lake Worth
  • 7289 Garden Road in Riviera Beach
  • 1771 S. Congress Ave. in Palm Springs
  • 1520 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach

Wawa also has c-stores in various stages of development in Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Parkland, Sunrise, and Greenacres, as well as at a second Pompano Beach location.

The company first broke ground in south Florida in July 2016, and earlier this year it embarked on a hiring push to fill 400 new job positions, as CSNews Online previously reported.

Pennsylvania-based Wawa operates more than 730 convenience stores, with more than 500 offering gas, in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.
