Wolfgang Puck Iced Coffee Heading East
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Two years after making its debut on store shelves in Beverly Hills, Wolfgang Puck Iced Coffee is making its way east. The beverage will pop up in Fresh Market stores this month, followed by Kroger. The latter will offer the iced coffee through its Natural Foods Sections in June.
In making its decision, the company cites the exploding popularity of iced coffee in the United States and the view that Wolfgang Puck Iced Coffee is a healthier alternative to other ready-to-drink iced coffee drinks.
"I am passionate about coffee and extremely proud of our product…it's a wonderful drink and it's great that more people will be able to enjoy it now," said chef Wolfgang Puck.
The beverage is a joint effort between Puck and Woodway Beverage Partners LLC. It was created in the kitchen of Spago Beverly Hills by Puck and his executive pastry chef Sherry Yard. It is organic, kosher and 120 calories per bottle. Wolfgang Puck Iced Coffee comes in Vanilla Fusion, Double Blend Mocha, Crème Caramel and Café au Lait.
"The timing for the national rollout is perfect as summer is a prime time for bottled coffees drinks," added Craig Lieberman, president of Woodway Beverage Partners. "We're receiving daily validation from consumers that Chef Puck has created a terrific, low-fat beverage which is a welcome alternative to the overly sweet or bitter taste found in other packaged coffee drinks."
By June single bottles and four packs of Wolfgang Puck Iced Coffee will be available in the organic sections of Fresh Markets, Kroger, Smith's Food, King Soopers, City Markets, Fry's, Dillons, Rice Epicurean Markets. In Southern California, the drink will also be available at Whole Foods, select CVS stores, Henrys Farmers Markets, Bristol Farms, Jimbo's and Wolfgang Puck Express Cafes.
