Worsley Expands in South Carolina

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Worsley Cos. Wednesday acquired two former Swifty Serve convenience stores in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The two stores have already been reopened and are being reimaged under Worsley's Scotchman convenience store brand. Both locations are in premier locations in the popular tourist town where Scotchman operates approximately 25 units.

The stores will feature Scotchman's CW's coffee program along with a large selection of fountain and frozen beverages. Customers will also have a choice of food offerings including CW's private label sandwiches, Ball Park franks, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and a new Sara Lee hot sandwich program.

Worsley, based in Wilmington, N.C., operates 135 locations in the Carolinas under the Scotchman and Young's brands. Worsley has also developed a new private label petroleum brand called Carolina Petro.
