Worsley Opens Stores with New Design

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Worsley Cos., based here, opened two new stores using the company's latest prototype design. The first opened in Wilmington, N.C. in May and the second in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in June, a company exec told CSNews Online.

These two new locations have the same building plan, but offer unique programs based on market demographics, according to Richard Mione, vice president, marketing, for the company, which operates 142 stores in North Carolina and South Carolina under the Scotchman Stores, Young’s Food Stores and S&E Mart banners.

The Wilmington location features a lounge offering free Wi-Fi, big screen TV and comfortable couches and chairs. The store has an expanded hot beverage offering, along with a large variety of fountain beverages, iced coffee, frozen beverages and iced tea. CW's sandwiches and salads are made on site as are fresh cookies and cinnamon rolls. The store features touchless rest rooms, a beer cave, XM radio, a new interior graphics program, and offers the company's proprietary branded gasoline Carolina Petro. This gasoline brand is now available at more than 30 of the company's locations.

The new Myrtle Beach location includes Worsley's first Quiznos subs and salads program. This location also offers a self-service car wash featuring friction- and touchless washes, and is branded as a Shell station, Mione said.
