XYIENCE Launches Video Contest

LAS VEGAS -- XYIENCE is on a mission to hear its name pronounced correctly.

Now through Nov. 15, XYIENCE fans can submit an original video in the "How Do You Say XYIENCE?" contest. The video must help people understand how to pronounce the name XYIENCE. The company is known for its Xenergy drink, the official beverage of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

“We know our true friends, fans and followers already know how to pronounce XYIENCE like pros, but we believe there is still work to be done to educate others about our hard-to-pronounce appellation,” said XYIENCE President John Lennon.

The contest is inspired by "Xy-What?" starring UFC welterweight fighter and XYIENCE team athlete Dan Hardy and BMX professional and extreme stuntman Mike Escamilia. As seen in the video above, Hardy and Escamilia walk the streets of Las Vegas, duking it out over whether or not people can pronounce XYIENCE correctly. The Las Vegas Business Press recently featured the video in its cover story about branding initiatives for companies with hard-to-pronounce names.

The contest's grand-prize winner will receive a one-year supply of Xenergy, a XYIENCE backpack, T-shirt and "other swag," the company stated. The contest is open to U.S. residents aged 18 or older, and no purchase is necessary to participate.

More contest details are available on XYIENCE's Facebook page.
