7-Eleven Gets Exclusive on New AMP Energy Flavor

DALLAS – 7-Eleven Inc. is the first to offer the new AMP Energy flavor Dale Jr. Sour, created through a partnership between PepsiCo Inc. and racing star Dale Earnhardt Jr. The beverage is available exclusively at participating 7-Eleven stores for a limited time.

Earnhardt chose the sour grape flavor for the limited-edition AMP Energy drink, which features him and his No. 88 Chevrolet SS car on the can.

"Selecting the great-tasting sour grape flavor for AMP Energy was a fun experience," said Earnhardt. "I'm excited for my fans to try it and to hear what they think."

On Thursday, April 10, six Charlotte, N.C., 7-Eleven stores will feature unique Dale Jr. Sour energy stands, which will offer customers the chance to try the new flavor. Additionally, Earnhardt is scheduled to surprise his fans by making an appearance at one of the six locations, where he will hand out limited-edition giveaways and samples of Dale Jr. Sour on-site, PepsiCo said. The undisclosed location will be announced the morning of the event via AMP Energy's Twitter feed (@AMPEnergy).

"Like Dale Jr., consumers need real energy to take on whatever the day may bring," said Aziel Rivers, director of marketing for AMP Energy. "Working closely with Dale Jr., we created the new, unique sour grape flavor that we believe fans will reach for on race day or whenever they are looking for a boost of energy."

Fans can submit their best #SourFace at the AMP Energy Facebook page for the chance to win limited-edition gear starting April 7. One grand-prize winner will receive a pair of tickets and accommodations to an upcoming race. Official sweepstakes rules are available at www.ampenergysourface.com.
