7-Eleven Sales Jump
Convenience store giant 7-Eleven Inc., operator of 5,700 convenience stores in the United States, said same-store sales jumped 5.5 percent from the year-ago level.
The Dallas-based operator reported that total merchandise activities in July -- representing all units -- climbed to $656 million, a 6.5-percent spike over the year-ago total of $616 million.
Gasoline sales were $248 million, an increase of 1.7 percent over $244 million a year earlier. The average gallons of gasoline sold per store increased 9.2 percent.
