Agenda for 2017 Multicultural Retail 360 Summit Shaping Up

CHICAGO — Marketing experts from Nielsen, Walgreens, Albertsons and several noted consultancies and research firms will be among the featured speakers at this year’s Multicultural Retail 360 Summit, the retail industry’s premier educational and networking event designed to help retailers and consumer packaged goods companies grow their business with America’s multicultural consumer market.

The 13th annual Multicultural Retail 360 Summit will be a dynamic one-day symposium taking place Sept. 26 in conjunction with the 2017 Path to Purchase Expo (P2PX), being held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., just outside Chicago.

The theme for this year’s Multicultural Retail 360 Summit is “Remaining Relevant to the New Mainstream Consumer” — a topic that several of the speakers will address. To register, go to www.multiculturalretail360.com/summit.

In addition, Yakov Yarmove, who heads up ethnic marketing and specialty foods at Jewel-Osco and Albertsons Cos., will give a presentation entitled “Think Like a Customer: How Retailers Are Changing to Meet the Needs of an Evolving Customer Base.”

Nielsen’s Director of Thought Leadership, Multicultural Growth and Strategy Vanna Tran will explore the “Importance of Multicultural Local Markets” and discuss how to assess the geographic differences in demands for key markets and develop a roadmap for a more focused business strategy.

About Marketing Solutions CEO Terry Soto will talk about why many leaders feel threatened and uncertain about the sweeping demographic shifts that have made America a multicultural nation. Her presentation will explore whether multicultural America is a threat or opportunity for U.S. retailers.

Other speakers will address how to market to and engage with African-Americans and Asian-Americans, as well as cross-cultural shoppers and Gen Zers.

The agenda has been shaped by the Multicultural Retail 360 Retailer Advisory Board. Consisting of representatives from the nation’s leading retail companies, including Kroger, Walgreens, 7-Eleven, Albertsons-Jewel/Osco and Macy’s, the board provides guidance to ensure the conference content remains true to retailers’ information needs. Other Retailer Advisory Board members are Best Buy, BP/ampm, Brookshire’s, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Maverik, and Milagros de Mexico.

As a special bonus this year, registered attendees of the Multicultural Retail 360 Summit will have access to the trade show floor and keynote presentations of the Path to Purchase Expo.
