Albertson's Abandoning San Antonio

San Antonio's Albertson's stores are showing all the signs of shutting their doors, but officials said no definite date for closing has been set.

Empty store shelves and sale prices are what shoppers find inside the stores, prompting customers and employees to speculate whether the end is near. Several employees yesterday said the stores could close later this week, the Associated Press reported.

An Albertson's spokesperson said Monday that any talk
of a closing date was rumor, because a date has not been set. The grocery store chain is still negotiating to sell the San Antonio buildings to other food stores.

Albertson's stores in nine other south Texas locations closed several weeks ago.
