Alon's Strive Fuel Program Getting Bigger in Texas

BIG SPRING, Texas — Alon Brands Inc. has expanded its carbon-neutral Reduced Emissions Fuel Program to seven more of its 7-Eleven locations here.

In partnership with GreenPrint LLC's Strive program, as well as The Arbor Day Foundation, affiliates of Keep America Beautiful and other regional partners, Alon now offers carbon-neutral fueling at more than 110 Alon 7-Eleven locations in Texas and New Mexico.

For every gallon of gas sold at these Alon locations, the convenience store operator plants trees in local parks and neighborhoods and invests in carbon-reduction projects to neutralize harmful emissions by up to 30 percent.

"As west Texas is home for us at Alon, our goal is to continue to be innovative thinkers and focus our efforts around being different than the competitor across the street. We're able to do that by giving back to our communities and neutralizing emissions through the Strive program," said Jonathan Ketchum, senior vice president of Alon Brands.

According to Atlanta-based GreenPrint, the Strive Reduced Emissions Fuel program has already neutralized more than 55 million pounds of carbon dioxide and equivalent greenhouse gasses and has planted more than 6,000 trees since the program's launch last year.

For its efforts, Convenience Store News has named Alon its 2016 Fuels Leader of the Year.

Dallas-based Alon Brands Inc. is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States.
