Atlas Oil CEO Receives ConocoPhillips Award

TAYLOR, Mich. -- Sam Simon, the chairman and CEO of Atlas Oil was the recipient of ConocoPhillips' 2006 Spirit of Excellence Award during its Branded Marketing Convention in Orlando. The award is given to marketers that show the company's core values of safety, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork in both personal and professional lives.

"The strength and quality of the Atlas team make us very glad they are associated with ConocoPhillips," said Mike Roach, Midwest region sales manager for ConocoPhillips. "They are a wonderful group of folks who have an outstanding community relationship."

Simon joined the fuel industry in 1976 when working at one of his father's 30 gas stations. He assumed the management of the 30 stations in 1980 and then purchased his first fuel truck using a $30,000 credit card advance. Since then, Atlas Oil has grown, becoming the largest wholesale distributor of petroleum products in the Midwest.

"It's extremely rewarding to be recognized for our team's hard work and diligent effort to continuously provide great service to our customers," said Simon.
