Atlas Oil Signs Alliance with BP
TAYLOR, Mich. -- Atlas Oil Co., a petroleum distributor and operator of a 40-unit convenience chain, finalized a strategic alliance with BP America, where Atlas' convenience stores in Michigan and Indiana will rebrand to the BP banner, Detroit Daily Business News reported.
"Atlas Oil Co.'s commitment to excellence, strong infrastructure and highly professional management team has provided a new opportunity to partner with a distinctive brand in the oil industry," Sam Simon, president and CEO of Atlas Oil, told the paper. "We are confident that our team will help facilitate growth of the BP brand while adding to our existing brand deck that includes Clark, CITGO, Marathon, Phillips, Fast Track and WOW."
CSNews Online reported yesterday that Atlas Oil acquired five Battle Creek, Mich., area convenience stores from R & J Inc., and will rebrand those stores to the BP banner as well.
Atlas Oil, which also is a franchisor to the Fast Track brand of convenience stores in the Midwest, recently converted its first two c-stores to the BP brand, in Dexter and Chelsea, Mich.
