Basketball Superstar Joins Sheets Energy Strips' Roster
NEW YORK -- Sheets Brand Energy Strips, a product of New York-based PureBrands LLC, added basketball superstar Chris Paul to its elite roster of brand partners that already includes such famed athletes and entertainers as LeBron James, Amar'e Stoudemire and Pitbull.
As a brand partner, Paul will assist in Sheets' marketing, advertising and promotional initiatives. The four-time NBA All-Star's inaugural assignments will be to introduce Sheets to the West Coast and debut the brand's latest flavor, Mint Boost. Additionally, Paul directed his own Sheets commercial as part of the brand's national Facebook competition, according to PureBrands.
The Facebook contest, launched last month, gives fans 45 days to submit their own creative slant on Sheets' high-profile ad campaign, via the brand's Facebook page. The winning ad will air nationally on television and in movie theaters.
"With the shortened season, I'm always looking for quick and easy ways to keep my energy going, and Sheets are the perfect way to do just that," noted Paul, point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Sheets Brand was also named the presenting sponsor of the fourth annual Chris Paul PBA Celebrity Invitational. Confirmed participants at the made-for-television doubles event include Reggie Bush (former USC star, Super Bowl winner and Miami Dolphins running back), Blake Griffin (L.A. Clippers forward and reigning NBA Dunk Contest champ), Michael Strahan (NFL great, Super Bowl winner and "Fox NFL Sunday" analyst), Jesse Williams (of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy") and comedian Kevin Hart. The event will air on ESPN on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. ET, just ahead of the Big Game telecast.
Available in multiple flavors, Sheets are paper-thin, individually wrapped, dissolvable pocket-sized strips that, when placed on the tongue, dissolve instantly and are easily swallowed and digested, delivering energy for hours, said the company. The product has no calories, no carbohydrates, no sugar and requires no water.
