BP Distributor Adds EV Charging Stations to North Carolina Sites

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fuel distributor Mark Oil Co. struck a deal with Nissan Motor Co. to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at 10 BP-branded gas stations in the Charlotte region. Eight of the 10 locations are located directly off interstate highways.

The fast-charger EV charging stations can charge an electric vehicle in 30 minutes. Per the agreement, Nissan Leaf owners can use the charging stations free of charge for two years under the auto manufacturer's No Charge to Charge Plan.

According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the North Carolina city now has 30 EV charging stations.

"Through our partnership with Nissan, we are ... able to provide electric charging stations at no cost and be among the largest providers of electric charging stations in America," said Mark Oil President Bill Tome.

Mark Oil Co. distributes BP products to 25 Charlotte locations.

"Charlotte has quickly become an EV-friendly market, and through this collaboration, Nissan LEAF drivers in the metro Charlotte area are never more than 10 miles from a fast charger," said Brian Maragno, Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing.
