BP Introduces New Amoco Ultimate Gasoline
CHICAGO -- BP Plc said it has doubled the engine cleaning power of its Amoco Ultimate premium gasoline to deliver cleaner engine performance along with cleaner air.
The improved Amoco Ultimate is being introduced this week at participating BP and Amoco stations in Cleveland, Memphis and Indianapolis. The key to the new Amoco Ultimate, the company said, is increased detergency -- now four times the industry requirement.
"Amoco Ultimate minimizes formation of deposits on the intake valves of newer vehicles and can significantly reduce existing deposit build-up in higher mileage engines, restoring performance and fuel economy in as little as five consecutive tankfuls and preventing the build-up of future deposits with continuous use," the company said in a statement.
Amoco Ultimate is available in many markets, including the Memphis, Indianapolis and Cleveland metropolitan areas, with an ultra low sulfur content averaging just 30 parts per million. Lower sulfur helps the catalytic converter in a vehicle's exhaust system work at peak efficiency, resulting in lower emissions and cleaner air.
