BP Teams with Chase to Offer Private Label Reward Card

WILMINGTON, Del. -- BP and Chase introduced the new proprietary BP Card with rewards, offering cardmembers 2 percent in rebates on Amoco Ultimate fuel purchases, BP's premium grade gasoline, according to a company press release. The new BP Card is the only private-label oil card to offer ongoing rebates for card purchases, and can be used for fuel and convenience store purchases, car washes and other services at more than 11,000 BP locations nationwide.

"We look forward to building on the success of our recent BP Visa Card promotion as we launch the new BP Card," said David VanWiggeren, card marketing manager at BP. "Chase continues to exceed expectations in its relationship with BP and its service of our consumers."

Once cardholders earn $25 in rebates, they can redeem them for their choice of a $25 BP Gift Card, a $25 check payable to themselves or use their rebates to make a donation to The Conservation Fund -- a top-rated environmental charity, the release stated. Furthermore, the card has no annual fee and online account management is available.

In addition, when customers apply, they will receive a $25 BP Gift Card after the first use of their new BP Card.

"Introducing the new proprietary BP Card is a testament to our long-standing partnership with BP and to providing our customers with products that have great value," said Donna Barrett, executive vice president, Chase Card Services. "This card continues our commitment to introduce a complete suite of products that answer the needs and wants of our busy consumers."

Earlier this year, BP and Chase launched the new BP Visa Card that offers a 5 percent rebate on BP purchases, 2 percent on eligible travel and dining purchases and 1 percent for all other eligible card purchases. Recently, Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine rated the BP Visa Card as the number one gasoline card.

Consumers may apply for the card by visiting any BP location, calling (866) 877-0806 or by visiting www.gobpcard.com.

Chase and BP have partnered together since 1994 to jointly offer a variety of gasoline and payment related products.
