Brookshire Bros. Completes Sale of 26 C-stores
LUFKIN, Texas — Brookshire Brothers Inc. completed the sale of 26 Polk Pick-It-Up convenience stores to Partners Investors C-stores Ltd. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Lufkin-based Brookshire Brothers will retain four Polk Pick-It-Up c-stores in Hudson, Central Heights, Central and Wells, Texas. The company acquired Polk Oil Co. in 2007.
“The sale of these locations enables us to focus on our core business; providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers in all of our formats, including the recently launched Brookshire Brothers Express banner,” said Brookshire Brothers President and CEO Jerry Johnson.
As CSNews Online reported in May when the deal was first announced, Brookshire Brothers continues to expand its footprint despite this sale. In fact, the company is scheduled to open new stores in Hamilton, Pilot Point and Canyon Lake, Texas. It also purchased land for a future store in Grapeland, Texas.
Founded in 1921, Brookshire Brothers is 100-percent employee owned, with retail assets that include c-stores, grocery stores, and freestanding pharmacy, tobacco and gas station locations.
