Buc-ee's to Open 'World's Largest Car Wash'

LAKE JACKSON, Texas — Not known for doing anything small, Buc-ee's is adding what it calls the world's largest car wash to its new Katy, Texas, location.

The store is scheduled to open in the fall and will features a 255-foot long car wash, according to the Houston Business Journal. The location is also expected to include a roughly 56,000-square-foot building, 120 fuel dispensers and outdoor merchandise sales.

The car wash is so big that it pushed the opening of the project back from spring to fall.

"This location has some unique design elements that are not seen at Buc-ee’s other stores," Nadalo said in an email to the news outlet. "It will feature what we believe will be the largest car wash in the world and backup power that will run the entire store (and car wash) in the event of a power outage. These new features have extended the normal timeline for construction."

In late 2016, Buc-ee's inked a long-term service agreement for back-up power to 10 convenience stores. The deal with Enchanted Rock Ltd. and Texas Microgrid LLC is expected to be expanded to all Buc-ee's current and future locations, as CSNews Online previously reported

Lake Jackson-based Buc-ee's operates 32 locations.
