Kelly, Epley in The Pantry
Dan Kelly has been appointed to succeed William T. Flyg as chief financial officer of The Pantry Inc. The chain, which operates 1,327 convenience stores in 10 Southeastern states under brands such as Handy Way, Lil' Champ, Quick Stop, Zip Mart, Fast Lane, Kangaroo, Depot and Big K, also announced that Berry Epley has been promoted to corporate controller.

Flyg, The Pantry's former CFO, vice president and controller, suffered a stroke earlier this year and will not be returning to the Sanford, N.C.-based chain, said Peter J. Sodini, president and CEO of the company.

Donas New CoGo's President
Joseph N. Donas, the vice president and chief operating officer of CoGo's Co., was promoted to president of the Pittsburgh-based chain effective immediately.

"Since he began at CoGo's. Joe has embodied the goals and values of our company," said Chairman Carl Colteryahn. "As president, CoGo's remains in good hands and can expect a bright future."

Donas, who is also a director of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association, will head 89 convenience stores and travel centers.

Premcor Names President
Premcor Inc., the Old Greenwich, Conn.-based refiner, appointed Henry M. Kuchta, currently the company's executive vice president of refining and chief operating officer, as president and chief operating officer effective Jan. 1. Kuchta will have day-to-day responsibility for the operations of the company as well as executing its strategic plan for achieving long-term growth.

Chipping In
Mark E. "Chip" Holt, president of Delta Oil Co., was elected to the board of directors of the Virginia Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association. Holt has been an active member of the association for a number of years and serves as a member of the Heating Fuels Committee. He replaces Bill Stearns, whose term expires on December 31.

Allied Domecq Adds QS Chief
Jon L. Luther, a 35-year foodservice industry veteran, has been named chief executive of Allied Domecq Quick Service Restaurants (ADQSR), which includes the Dunkin' Donuts, Baskin-Robbins, and Togo's brands. ADQSR is a subsidiary of UK-based Allied Domecq PLC.

Coca-Cola Taps Former AOL Time Warner Executive
Ending months of speculation, Coca-Cola Co. tapped Steve Heyer to become the Atlanta beverage company's president and chief operating officer. Heyer has been overseeing the company's Latin America, marketing and new business ventures, and other operations since joining Coca-Cola in April 2001.

Brewing a Boss
John McCann was named president of Annapolis, Md.-based Saeco USA Inc. a manufacturer of espresso coffee machines for the retail industry. He succeeds Markus Bihler, who will continue as CEO of Saeco Germany.

Service to the Fleet
Eric Dey has been appointed chief financial officer of Atlanta-based FleetCor Technologies, a provider of fleet card and information services for petroleum marketers.

TNT Takes Two
Independent, national convenience store broker TNT Marketing Co. added two regional managers to its national sales team.

Frieda Alexander will serve as regional manager for the Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions. Brian Williams, formerly a product manager for Clark Retail Enterprises Inc., is responsible for sales in the Midwest region.

Gus Ferracane has joined convenience store industry distributor Eby-Brown Co. as vice president of food service marketing.

Willmott Joins Fleming's Board
Fleming Cos. Inc., a convenience store industry distributor, elected Peter S. Willmott to its board of directors. Willmott also serves on the board of Federal Express Corp.

CMi Solutions Inc., Charlotte, N.C. announced that Steve Spieller joined the software firm as territory sales manager for the western United States.

Sweet Sorrow
Hershey Foods Corp. said Wynn Willard, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, will leave the company effective December 31. Willard joined Hershey Foods in 2001 following a nine-year career with Nabisco.

Just Born Marketing Changes
Just Born Inc., the Bethlehem, Pa. manufacturer of candy brands like Mike and Ike and Hot Tamales, promoted Matt Pye to the newly created position of marketing director of marshmallow products and Sylvia Coyle to research and development director.

Easy Designs, a St. Charles, Mo.-based retail consulting firm, appointed Robert Skinner as manager of the pharmacy/retail design and renovation company. In his position, Skinner will be responsible for all operational, administrative, sales and strategic activities at the company.

Kelly Moore was appointed general manager of Belleisle Creek, New Brunswick-based Belleisle Foods Ltd. She will coordinate the development of Belleisle's annual business plans and provide recommendations to senior management regarding the potential need for growth and enhancement of the business.

Henry Hutsell, former director of U.S. sales and marketing at Tokheim Corp., has been named director of strategic global accounts for Greensboro, N.C. pump manufacturer Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
