Chevron Maintenance Continues
HOUSTON -- ChevronTexaco Corp. hopes to restart the sole crude unit at its 225,000 barrel per day (bpd) Richmond oil refinery near San Francisco this week, the company said.
Plans to restart the refinery, which was taken down for scheduled maintenance in mid-January, depend on whether workers at the refinery agree to the company's latest proposal for a new labor contract.
Results of voting on the company's offer are expected Monday.
Plans to restart the crude unit have been delayed by about a week because of the contract negotiations.
