ChevronTexaco to Sponsor Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

SAN RAMON, Calif. -- ChevronTexaco Products Co. (CTPC), a division of Chevron USA Inc., is once again sponsoring the 2004 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Dec. 31.

"We are proud to sponsor one of the most renowned collegiate football games in the nation," said Craig Duncan, vice president of CTPC.

ChevronTexaco will continue its commitment to create interest and drive attendance to the event with a number of co-marketing consumer promotions in partnership with its Texaco Xpress Lube operators and Chevron and Texaco gas stations.

The company is also sponsoring the Georgia High School Association's Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Program again. ChevronTexaco's Havoline brand has sponsored each year of the 11-year-old program, which recognizes 40 of the top scholar-athletes in the state of Georgia, one from each region of the state.

In awarding the scholarships, judges take into account the student's performance on the field, in the classroom and in the community. Each of the 40 winners will receive a college scholarship in the amount of $1,000, courtesy of Havoline. In addition, the judges will select one athlete with the highest achievement to receive a $2,000 scholarship.

"ChevronTexaco has a longstanding tradition of promoting education as a vital component of personal and professional growth," said Duncan. "We are proud to be able to recognize the tremendous and well-rounded efforts of these student-athletes, and we commend them for recognizing the importance of education in reaching their goals."
