Chicago & Cleveland C-stores Take Part in World Series Fanfare
IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven Inc. is making historic offers to hometown fans of the ultimate baseball matchup, as it has been 108 years since Chicago's oldest baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, won the title and 68 years since Cleveland's team, the Cleveland Indians, took home Major League Baseball's championship trophy.
Starting Oct. 26, 7-Eleven stores in the greater Chicagoland area will offer a Big Bite hot dog and Big Gulp soft drink for $1.08 until the best-out-of-seven winner is crowned.
In Cleveland, stores will offer a Big Bite hot dog for 68 cents for the run of the series.
7-Eleven stores in both cities will offer a free medium cup of coffee on the day after each game, as fans will certainly be up late on game days to celebrate or commiserate. The free cup will be available for 24 hours from midnight to 11:59 p.m.
"You can also find fan favorite merchandise, so you can grab and go your home team's gear for the game," said 7-Eleven Chief Merchandising Officer Jesus Delgado-Jenkins.
Along with hot dogs and beverages, 7-Eleven stores have the pizza, wings, snacks, ice, sports team merchandise, phone chargers and other items that sports fans need to celebrate and keep the party going.
"Today, baseball and hot dogs go together like, well Big Bites and Big Gulps at 7-Eleven," said Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation.
