Cody's Expands in Springfield, Mo.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Cody's Convenience Stores, a chain of 25 locations headquartered here, is building a new store through its operating company Jared Enterprises Inc., and with the help of general contractor Missouri Supermarket Builders Inc., the Springfield Business Journal reported.
This Cody's location will be the 26th for Jared Enterprises, which acquired the company in 2002 when it was just a single location. The new store will feature 16 fueling positions, a single-bay automatic car wash and convenience store items, chief operating officer and executive vice president Curtis Jared told the Business Journal. Jared launched Cody's Convenience Stores in 2002 after buying his first store in Rogersville.
The latest store, located at 2149 S. Campbell Ave., will span 4,335 square feet and is estimated to cost $800,000, according to a Springfield, Mo., building permit cited by the Journal. Bates & Associates Inc. is serving as the architect, while various companies are listed as engineers on the project -- Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Miller Engineering LLC, structural; Latifi Engineering and Genesis Design Group LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
The building is expected to be completed in March, the newspaper reported.
