Couche-Tard Rebranding Super Pantry Sites

LAVAL, Quebec –- Two months after Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. revealed plans to acquire 55 Super Pantry stores, the locations are officially part of the Circle K portfolio.

The July transaction with Champaign, Ill.-based Tri Star Marketing included 51 convenience stores in Illinois, four c-stores in Indiana and three distribution plants. According to SaukValley.com, the signage and other marketing materials at these sites should be changed from Super Pantry to Circle K within the next week.

The 55 c-stores -- which comprised all of Super Pantry's locations -- offer Phillips 66- and Mobil-branded fuel.

The stores will now operate as part of Couche-Tard's Midwest Division, as CSNews Online previously reported. Couche-Tard's network in the Circle K Midwest Division currently includes approximately 600 company-operated stores, as well as 193 locations under wholesale or franchise agreement.

Under terms of the acquisition agreement, both parties signed a confidentiality agreement prohibiting them from revealing the acquisition price at this time. Couche-Tard previously noted that the purchase will be paid for via available cash.

Laval-based Alimentation Couche-Tard operates 6,200-plus convenience stores, including more than 4,700 locations with road transportation fuel dispensing.
