Crown Central Expands Fuel Presence

BALTIMORE -- Crown Central LLC, a petroleum marketer and convenience store licensee headquartered here, entered into a brand licensing agreement to expand the Crown fuel brand through TAC Energy, a subsidiary of Truman Arnold Cos.

"We believe the combination of TAC Energy’s supply capabilities and stellar reputation, coupled with Crown’s retail presence and brand recognition, will be beneficial to both organizations," Bob Fritz, Crown’s general manager, said in a statement.

Under the agreement, TAC Energy will have the ability to brand TAC-supplied locations with the Crown image, as a licensed provider of Crown fuels, the company stated.

"Crown has a great reputation and has been an established brand in the Southeastern,
mid-South and mid-Atlantic regions for many years," John Rettiger, vice president of TAC Energy, said in a statement. "We are excited to be partnering with Crown licensees who want a fuel supplier to provide guaranteed unbranded fuel supply at the lowest cost."

Meanwhile, the company also expanded a longstanding relationship with Wright Express to include the newly acquired TelaPoint Inc. subsidiary.

Telapoint is the first Internet platform software company to provide business-to-business applications focused exclusively on the c-store and petroleum industry, according to Telapoint sales manager Chris Volan. TelaPoint’s application suite enables convenience stores and fuel outlets to improve the efficiency of their fuel replenishment, buying and administrative operations, he added.

"Crown licensees can use TelaFuel to improve management of the fuel replenishment process across all company-owned and wholesale petroleum operations," said Volan. "Users are able to electronically process fuel orders and optimize the scheduling of their transportation fleet to better manage inventories and logistics, resulting in lower costs and greater administrative efficiency."
