CSNews Appoints Associate Publisher
NEW YORK -- Convenience Store News is proud to announce the appointment of Alan Schlanger to the position of Associate Publisher.

For the past year, Alan has been the Publisher of Giftware Business magazine at VNU Business Media where he managed a sales and editorial team in the reengineering of a 60 year old magazine.
Prior to that, Schlanger founded and was President/CEO of Active Ingredients, a start-up agency specializing in value-added promotional marketing solutions for magazine publishers. His client list included several titles at Time Inc., Hearst Publishing, Conde Nast Publishing, Reed Business Information, Advanstar Communications, CMP Business Media and VNU Business Media, parent company of Convenience Store News.
Schlanger has also acted as Vice President, Publishing and Merchandising Products for Reed Business Information and was instrumental in creating publishing and sponsorship programs for over 70 U.S. trade shows and expos produced by Reed Exposition Companies.
For six years prior, he was Associate Publisher of Publishers Weekly where he managed a global sales team for the leading magazine serving the book publishing business. Schlanger was the instrumental force in expanding the magazine to become the preeminent international communication vehicle in the business.
Alan is a graduate of Boston University School of Management and lives in Morristown, New Jersey with his two children. His is an avid skier, golfer and cyclist.
