CSNews Launches Fuels & Tech Summit

10/2/2014

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Convenience Store News is pleased to announce the launch of a new event designed to explore both present and future challenges in two connected — and rapidly evolving — areas with enormous implications on the future of convenience store retailing.

The CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit will be an exclusive gathering of the convenience industry’s most influential fuels and technology retailers. The Summit will provide a forum to facilitate the exchange of ”ahead of what’s next” insights, innovative concepts, fresh ideas, proven strategies and best-in-class operations tactics from today’s thought leaders.

The inaugural CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit will be held Dec. 8-9 at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa in Riviera Beach, Fla.

The welcome dinner on the evening of Dec. 8 will feature the presentation of the CSNews Fuels & Technology Leadership Awards. This year’s honorees include:

  • Avsha Klachuk, director of marketing technology, Alon USA
  • Jenny Bullard, chief information officer, and Jeannie Amerson, director of marketing, Flash Foods
  • Scott Zaremba, president, Zarco USA
  • Joel Hershboeck, superintendent of alternative fuels, Kwik Trip

On Dec. 9, the agenda will consist of two separate, concurrent tracks. One track will focus on motor fuels, covering current challenges as well as the evolving markets for alternative fuels and what fuels retailers should be exploring. The other track will focus on technology, covering such topics as card payments, data security, PCI (payment card industry) compliance, point-of-sale systems, business intelligence systems and other key technology implementation challenges in the year ahead.

There will also be general sessions covering “bridge” topics such as loyalty programs, mobile payments and a preview of what the convenience store of the future might look like.

In addition, the event will include presentations of new, exclusive CSNews research: the annual Motor Fuels Study and the annual Technology Study. Expert presentations and open discussion will follow the presentations of these proprietary research studies.

Participation in the CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit is limited to 12 retailers from the fuels side and 12 retailers from the technology side.
