CSNews Named Finalist in 2013 Eddie & Ozzie Awards
NORWALK, Conn. -- Convenience Store News once again has been recognized among the best editorial products in business-to-business publishing with the announcement of the 2013 FOLIO: Eddie and Ozzie Award finalists. FOLIO:, the leading publication serving the entire magazine media industry, announced yesterday that CSNews is a finalist for Best Full Issue in the Business-to-Business/Retail category for its October 2012 issue.
From more than 2,300 entries, the FOLIO: panel of 300-plus judges narrowed the finalists list down to roughly 500 entries representing the very best in editorial and design in the magazine publishing industry. This is the largest and most inclusive awards program of its kind in the magazine media industry.
"Where else can you see the best in magazine media content and design from every corner of the industry?" said Bill Mickey, editorial director of FOLIO: "Each year is more groundbreaking than the next — the work that's showcased and honored in the Eddie and Ozzie Awards spotlights the immutable vibrancy of magazines on all platforms."
Earlier this year, the October 2012 issue of Convenience Store News won the Jesse H. Neal award for Best Single Issue for publications with annual advertising revenues between $3 million and $7 million.
The huge, 200-plus-page issue featured a cover story on RaceTrac Petroleum Inc.; an in-depth series on the future of fuels in the petroleum retailing industry; several case studies on leading retailers such as Wawa Inc., Corner Store and Cumberland Farms Inc.; category management features on tobacco, the cold vault, and candy and snacks; plus numerous other special reports and features.
CSNews has won 13 other media industry editorial awards over the past five years.
FOLIO: Eddie and Ozzie Award winners will be announced at an awards breakfast on Dec. 5 in New York City.
