CST Senior VP Jeremy Bergeron to Lead CrossAmerica
SAN ANTONIO and ALLENTOWN, Pa. — CrossAmerica Partners LP President and CEO Joe Topper will retire on Sept. 30 and be replaced by Jeremy Bergeron, who currently serves as senior vice president of integration and development operations at CST Brands Inc.
Topper will continue day-to-day management of CrossAmerica until Sept. 30, but resigned as president effective Friday to ensure a smooth leadership transition. In the meantime, Bergeron will report to Topper.
San Antonio-based CST owns the general partner of CrossAmerica Partners, a master limited partnership and wholesale distributor of motor fuels based in Allentown.
Topper will continue to serve on the boards of directors of both companies following his retirement.
"I look forward to working side-by-side with Jeremy and introducing him to our great employees, as well as the Allentown, Pa., community," said Topper. "One thing is certain: he will definitely need warmer clothes [upon moving from San Antonio to Allentown]."
CST Chairman, President and CEO Kim Lubel thanked Topper for his "tremendous leadership."
"With this strong leadership succession plan, we hope to continue to create value for our shareholders and unit holders. We are excited for the next phase in the growth of our integrated company," she said.
Bergeron noted he is excited about the new opportunity. "Without a doubt, Joe's shoes are big ones to fill, but my family and I are thrilled with the prospect of joining the Allentown community."
The companies also announced David Hrinak, CrossAmerica's current executive vice president and chief operating officer, will remain in his current role and report to Bergeron.
As of Dec. 31, CST Brands operated 1,021 U.S. stores, primarily under the Corner Store brand name. The retailer also had 861 Canadian stores as of the same date.
CrossAmerica Partners is a wholesale distributor of motor fuels and owner and lessee of real estate used in the retail distribution of motor fuels.
