Cumberland Farms' SmartPay Check-Link Delivers $10M Savings
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Cumberland Farms customers have saved $10 million on gas since the January 2013 launch of its free SmartPay Check-Link payment program, the company announced. SmartPay lets customers pay for gas and in-store purchases using their mobile phones or with a payment card, and automatically saves them 10 cents on every gallon of gas they buy.
Additionally, Cumberland Farms now offers exclusive rewards in-store when customers use the SmartPay Check-Link mobile app, such as a free Farmhouse Blend Coffee or a Chill Zone beverage for every 30 gallons of gas purchased. Following each transaction, mobile app users are automatically emailed a receipt and notification of both how much money they saved on that specific purchase and their lifetime program savings.
SmartPay also works inside any Cumberland Farms store, allowing customers to pay for all in-store items using their phone or their SmartPay card.
"We've been blown away by the success that our SmartPay program has seen in less than 18 months since its launch, and the number of participants is growing daily," said Cumberland Farms President Ari Haseotes. "We are so proud that we've saved our customers $10 million to date -- and with the addition of our rewards program for mobile app users, we're providing our loyal customers with even more convenient ways to save at the pump and in-store, especially with Memorial Day and summer travel ahead."
SmartPay Check-Link is available as a mobile app and in payment card format with secure, PIN-based transactions tied to a user's checking account. Free enrollment is available at www.cumberlandfarms.com/smartpay.
