With SmartPay, Cumberland Farms customers save 10 cents on every gallon of gasoline purchased at any of the brand's locations.
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Since the launch of its SmartPay Check-Link program in January 2013, Cumberland Farms' customers have saved more than $100 million.
Through SmartPay, Cumberland Farms customers save 10 cents on every gallon of gasoline purchased at any of the brand's nearly 600 gasoline retail locations across the Northeast and Florida.
Free to join and use, SmartPay is available as both a payment card and a mobile payment app.
Cumberland Farms is celebrating the $100-million customer savings milestone by gifting the top 20 SmartPay users with $100 worth of free gasoline. These SmartPay users have already saved anywhere from $3,100 to $5,600 on gas through the program.
"We are excited to have reached this incredible customer savings milestone for SmartPay," said David Heilbronner, director of brand strategy and advertising for Cumberland Farms. "As we continue to roll out new features in the app, we're seeing more customers sign up to save significantly at the pump and earn rewards. We want to thank our SmartPay customers for their loyalty and encourage others who are not in the program to sign up."
Back in February, Cumberland Farms upgraded the SmartPay app with a new look and new features. Among the program’s new features are Clubs, which allows app users to earn free in-store menu items, such as pizza and breakfast sandwiches.
For every 50 gallons of gasoline purchased, SmartPay app users can also earn a free coffee or fountain beverage. The retailer has given away more than 5 million drinks to date.
Headquartered in Westborough, Cumberland Farms currently operates nearly 600 convenience stores across eight states.
