DTN Energy Acquires OilSpot

OMAHA, Neb. -- DTN Energy, a provider of tools and services for petroleum marketers and convenience store operators, has acquired the weekly OilSpot Newsletter, which boasts a circulation in excess of 8,000, from Houston-based FuelQuest, another dot-com petroleum provider.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In addition to the newsletter, the companies said they will work together to deliver additional portals for news, information and additional services.

"Most of our clients utilize DTN Energy for data and news services," said FuelQuest marketing Vice President Dough Haugh. "The transition of The OilSpot simply makes sense as another channel for the delivery of this highly valued content."

Sam Burkett, DTN's vice president of sales and marketing, added, "DTN Energy is always looking for new ways to serve our core markets of petroleum suppliers and marketers. The OilSpot is a logical expansion of these efforts and we will continue to work with FuelQuest over the next year as we develop new services for these markets."
