E-Z Mart Selects Precidia for Transaction Processing
TEXARKANA, Texas -- E-Z Mart Stores Inc., operator of more than 300 c-stores across Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri and Oklahoma, selected Precidia Technologies Inc., for its iPocket232 serial IP adapter, which will connect to the retailer's Ruby terminals and fuel tank monitoring devices to a broadband network from Cybera, Precidia stated.
As a result, E-Z Mart gained faster, more cost-effective transaction processing, compared to its former dial-up lines in unbranded stores, as well as simplified fuel inventory management, the company stated.
"Compared to other available options, the iPocket232 was the most cost effective route to fully networked payments," Tom Withem, information resources manager for E-Z Mart, said in a statement. "The iPocket232 completed the network offering, ensuring that the benefits of broadband were realized at the point-of-sale, with faster transactions."
In addition, the retailer leveraged the technology to network Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) controllers, which eliminated telephone lines and onsite visits by technicians to troubleshoot and monitor fuel inventory levels, he added.
