Enmark Stores Begin Stocking Organic Items
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Enmark Stations now carries United Natural Foods (UNFI) organic products at 25 stores in order to offer customers healthy snacking options. Available UNFI items include kale and falafel chips, Tanka buffalo jerky, organic candy, kombucha beverages, organic sodas, and frozen products such as ice cream and frozen entrees.
Enmark plans to add UNFI products to its remaining locations in the near future, the company said.
"We were very happy when Enmark expressed an interest in our service and products," stated Stephanie Walker, UNFI regional sales manager. "As the first convenience store chain serviced by our Atlanta warehouse, Enmark's commitment to providing healthy snacks for its customers is a step above what most convenience stores are currently doing."
UNFI is the leading independent national distributor of natural, organic and specialty foods and related products, including nutritional supplements, personal care items and organic produce, according to the announcement.
"Enmark has always had an interest in making our communities healthier. The Savannah Bridge Run has been an important event for us for many years, we've organized the Encourage Health lecture series, and we have a history of working with our suppliers to carry their healthier product options," said Matt Clements, director of marketing at Enmark Stations. "In order to take the healthy options to the next level, we had to seek out a new supplier. UNFI embraced our interest and helped us organize this vision. Over 50 percent of Americans snack three or more times per day. Why not make it easier for them to make a healthy choice when they snack?"
Family-run Enmark Stations operates 60 convenience stores in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013.
