Express Lane Chain Files for Chapter 11
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Waddill's Markets Inc., operator of the nine-store chain of Express Lane convenience stores, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Missouri, reported the News-Leader.
The company operates stores in Springfield, Republic, Nixa and Clever, Mo., according to Raymond Plaster, a local attorney who represents the company.
Waddill's Markets Inc. owes more than $3.8 million to its creditors, including $1.9 million in unsecured claims, according to court documents cited by the newspaper. Meanwhile, the Express Lane stores will remain open, Plaster told the paper.
