Flyers Energy Makes Second Acquisition of 2014
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Flyers Energy LLC purchased Redding Oil Co.'s commercial fueling and wholesale contracts, along with two convenience stores, the Sacramento Business Journal reported. Redding will continue to own and operate its remaining c-stores, local fuel delivery trucks and bulk lubricants division.
Former Redding commercial customers can immediately use Flyers commercial cards nationwide.
"The fuel industry is evolving. We have built this company through three generations over the past 75 years and are pleased to partner with Flyers Energy to take on the commercial products," stated Redding Oil CEO Jack Reiser.
Technological, regulatory and environmental changes are happening so quickly that it is difficult for small operators to provide competitive pricing in commercial accounts, he added.
This acquisition follows Flyers Energy's January purchase of Reno, Nev.-based Allied Washoe Petroleum.
Flyers Energy franchises the Flyers fuel brand and is the marketer for more than 100 Chevron, Shell, Valero and Union 76 stations, according to the report. The company also has a commercial fueling network of more than 230,000 gas stations using the Flyers Fleet Card across the United States.
