Gilbarco Encore S DEF Dispenser

Gilbarco Veeder-Root is rolling out its first Encore S Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispensers for North America. DEF will be required for heavy transport trucks equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to reduce emissions beginning in January 2010, according to the company. Gilbarco’s Encore S DEF dispensers offer a familiar design for consistency with existing brand image, and feature an integrated CRIND card reader, the company stated. An H-frame design allows for future offerings of multiple fuels at one pump, according to the company. The new dispenser is designed to prevent DEF freezing and crystallization with a thermostat-controlled, heated cabinet with specially designed optional hanging hardware, Gilbarco stated. The dispenser’s hydraulics are stainless steel to protect against corrosion, and a new stainless steel mass flow meter measures DEF and is Weights & Measures approved, according to the company.
