G&M Oil, GasBuddy Give Free Fuel to Veterans
SAN DIEGO — GasBuddy is partnering with G&M Oil Co. to give away free fuel to GasBuddy members who are active military and veterans.
In recognition of Memorial Day, the companies are holding a special 'Tank' You for Your Service GasBuddy Tank Takeover Event May 25 in San Diego County, Calif.
Representatives from both GasBuddy and G&M are surprising active military and veterans who have the GasBuddy app downloaded and a GasBuddy profile created with more than $20 worth of fuel per vehicle. GasBuddy revealed the exact G&M location, time of the event and additional information on its social media channels the morning of the event.
"Memorial Day is a time to honor those who have sacrificed for our country," said Michael DiLorenzo, vice president of marketing at GasBuddy. "GasBuddy and G&M want to make it as easy as possible for active military, veterans and their families to get to where they need to be during the busiest driving season of the year."
The giveaway is based on GasBuddy's past Tank Takeover events that took place in other cities like Houston; Charlotte, N.C.; Denve; Los Angeles; and Phoenix.
San Diego is a military town, and approximately 80,000 military personnel live in the county, according to GasBuddy, which previously partnered with G&M for similar California events in Los Angeles and Orange County.
To participate drivers must provide military ID or offer proof of service, and must have the free GasBuddy app downloaded with a profile created. Fuel is for the vehicle only, with no external containers permitted.
Huntington Beach, Calif.-based G&M owns and operates convenience stores and fueling stations throughout Southern California, including San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
