Gulf Brand Returns to the Race Track

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP is revving up for its return to the race track. The branded energy products provider formed a new partnership with Hyperfuels, which will develop and market Gulf Racing Fuel to race tracks and performance retailers throughout the country.

Under the multi-year agreement, Hyperfuels will develop and market various grades of unleaded, non-ethanol blends, including 105 and 110 octane. These products will soon be available throughout the United States in both a bulk and packaged format.

"This new partnership furthers our commitment to continue our market expansion and to serve America’s drivers with high-performance fuels, wherever they happen to drive, including our nation’s country roads, highways and now our race tracks," said Gulf Oil President Ron Sabia. "We are delighted to be working with Hyperfuels and to be delivering Gulf products to speedways and performance retailers throughout the U.S."

Houston-based Hyperfuels distributes racing fuels and sells products through a nationwide dealer network and its website. The Gulf brand brings tremendous value to Hyperfuels, said Jess Hewett, its president.

"Gulf has a storied history in racing, and the recognition and respect that the Gulf brand receives in the racing world gives us an immediate leg up when marketing our new line of Gulf Racing Fuels," said Hewett. "The decision to partner with Gulf was an easy one. Anyone who goes to any race track today will see that Gulf’s blue and orange racing colors are everywhere. The popularity of Gulf is unquestioned -- it’s a brand that everyone trusts."

Framingham, Mass.-based Gulf Oil LP distributes motor fuels via a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and more than 130 other supply points.
