Gulf Relaunches Holiday Gift Card

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Gulf Oil LP is taking steps to build customer loyalty and attract new customers to Gulf stations this holiday season.

The Framingham-based gas retailer is relaunching its Gulf Gift Card for the 2014 holiday season. The cards are available in any denomination from $5 to $250, and come in four different designs tailored to meet the needs of Gulf patrons.

According to the company, the gift cards can be used for gas, car services or other purchases at more than 2,500 Gulf-branded stations, which helps drive sales to potentially new customers throughout the 30-state Gulf footprint.

The Gulf Gift Card Program includes:

  • 2014 Holiday Gift Card — Featuring a smiling snowman, this special-edition Gulf Gift Card makes a great stocking stuffer or holiday gift for family, friends, employees and colleagues. For Gulf retailers, it is a gift that gives back in additional revenue and customer engagement throughout the holiday season.
  • Pink Ribbon Gift Card — Introduced earlier this year, this is Gulf's first charitable gift card. Gulf will make a $1 donation to the Gulf Oil Giving Foundation for every Pink Ribbon Gift Card purchased at a value of $50 or more. The popularity of this card is reflected by the fact that in the first month of sales, 40 percent of Pink Ribbon Cards purchased resulted in donations to the foundation.
  • Happy Birthday Gift Card — This card makes a great birthday present for anyone on the go, and is a terrific way for Gulf retailers to help their customers give the gift of convenience to friends, family and colleagues. Like other gift cards in the portfolio, it also helps to bring new customers to Gulf-branded stations.
  • Classic Gift Card — This card is a great way to celebrate graduations, new car purchases, new jobs, and even for use as a budgeting tool. The Classic Gift Card is also an effective way to thank small-business customers for their loyalty to Gulf.
