Holmes Oil Named N.C. Retailer of the Year

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Holmes Oil Co. is the recipient of the 2015 L.W. Locke Retailer of the Year award from the North Carolina Petroleum and Convenience Marketers (NCPCM) association.

The L.W. Locke Retailer of the Year award honors a NCPCM member company for outstanding community service, leadership and excellence in operations.

In recent years, Holmes Oil and its retail brand Cruizers Convenience Marketplace has donated more than $10,000 to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the N.C. Cancer Hospital as part of the Corona Cares initiative. It has also donated more than $25,000 to area schools and charities as part of the ExxonMobil and BP grant programs.

“This is a wonderful award for our company. We work every day to make our stores a better place to shop, and our great employees have helped to make us what we are. It’s great to be locally owned and operated and to give back to the communities we serve,” the company said in a statement.

Chapel Hill-based Holmes Oil operates 25 retail locations under the brand Cruizers Convenience Marketplace.
