H.T. Hackney Acquires Jiffy 7 Till 11 Stores

DAYTON, Tenn. -- H.T. Hackney Co. acquired two Jiffy 7 Till 11 stores here. Both locations will eventually operate under the Aztex Petroleum banner, a chain of Hackney-owned convenience stores and gas stations in Tennessee and North Carolina.

H.T. Hackney was not on the hunt to purchase additional convenience stores, but the founders of the Jiffy 7 Till 11 stores contacted the distributor and said they were ready to sell the stores and move on to retirement, according to the Times Free Press

"We've known them for a long time," Hackney Chairman and CEO William Sansom told the newspaper. "They kind of got to talking to some of our people."

Once the two Dayton stores switch to the Aztex brand, consumers can expect a wider variety of hot prepared foods, such as pizza and soups, Sansom said.

Knoxville, Tenn.-based H.T. Hackney Co. was the fourth-largest convenience wholesaler in 2013 with estimated sales of $4 billion, according to the Convenience Store News Top Wholesalers report. The company serves 20,000 retail locations.
