Huck’s Cited in Beer Price Investigation

INDIANAPOLIS -- Huck's Convenience Stores faces significant fines and/or a suspension of its alcoholic beverage permit in the Hoosier State.

According to a report by WFIE, Huck's featured a coupon in a promotional flyer that offered $1 off any beer that is a six-pack or larger from Feb. 12 to Feb. 25. Many consumers at Huck's 12 stores in southern Indiana are said to have taken advantage of the offer.

However, Indiana law requires that alcoholic beverages be sold for the same price to all consumers. Many customers allegedly purchased beer that would have qualified for the $1-off coupon, but did not present the coupon and therefore did not receive the discount during the two-week timeframe, according to Indiana authorities.

Huck's faces citations that could result in fines of up to $1,000 per charge, a suspension of its Indiana alcoholic beverage permit, or both.
