The ICEE Co. Launches ICEE Maker App

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -- The ICEE Co., a supplier of frozen beverages to the convenience store industry, has launched an ICEE Maker application (app) for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Within days of the launch, the ICEE Maker app soared to No. 1 in the entire app store, and has remained in the top 10 apps, with more than 2.3 million downloads, the company said.

The free app, available at http://bit.ly/iceemaker, was developed by Sunstorm Interactive, developer of popular apps such as Cupcake Maker, Pizza Maker and Sand Castle Maker. The ICEE app allows users to make a virtual ICEE by designing their own cup and lid and mixing flavors. The user's custom ICEE can then be e-mailed or posted on Facebook. The app also includes a game to see how many ICEE drinks the user can consume in one minute.

"We are very excited about the launch of our ICEE Maker app," said Dan Fachner, president of The ICEE Co. "It is great to see our nostalgic, iconic brand enter this entirely new arena."

The ICEE Co., a subsidiary of J&J Snack Foods Corp., also owns the Slush Puppie and Parrot Ice brands of frozen beverages, which are available in the convenience channel as well.
