Inaugural Tobacco Plus Convenience Expo Takes Shape
LAS VEGAS -- One of the tobacco industry's biggest annual events is gearing up to gather in Las Vegas for the first time as the newly coined Tobacco Plus Convenience Expo (TPC). More than 2,000 retailers, wholesalers and distributors are expected to attend the two-day event, slated for Jan. 29-30.
The 2014 event will host 300-plus exhibitors from around the world. To date, more than 20 percent of the current exhibitors are from the international community.
Emerging electronic cigarette and vapor products will account for the majority of new product categories on display in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Traditional tobacco, cigars, pipes, snus, rolling tobacco, papers, and other tobacco products will also be showcased. The TPC Best New Product Awards will be revealed on Jan. 30 in the Cigar Bar & Lounge.
In addition to the expo floor, conferences will be held each day at 8:30 a.m. Topics will include:
- The Future of E-Cigarettes
- What’s Going On in Tobacco Retailing? The Future of FDA Regulation
- Trench Marketing -- How to Maximize Your Merchandising Dollars
TPC will also host free roundtable discussions on topics such as electronic cigarette marketing; protecting tobacco products with patents, trademarks and copyrights; romancing cigar sales; preferred insights reporting in the marketplace; and selling alternative products.
