Jiffy Mart Teams With St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Starting now and running through the month of February 2011, Jiffy Mart, a division of Tevis Oil, locations in Carroll County, Maryland will participate in St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s "Boot Cancer" Campaign, the company reported. St. Jude is the world’s premier center for the research and treatment of cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

Customers are able to purchase a boot symbol for one dollar, sign it, and have it hung at the location where it was purchased. The money raised will go directly to St. Jude’s. Last year, each of the four Jiffy Mart stores surpassed their goal of $780 each, and with an additional contribution of $500 from Jiffy Mary corporate, raised a total of $4,597.

Because of generous donations such as these, no family at St. Jude’s ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance and families without insurance are never asked to pay, the company stated. Their mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment, and St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world.
