Kangaroo Express Kicks Off Reading Club
CARY, N.C. – A Kangaroo Express store in Conway, S.C., is urging local school children to dive into reading with its Roo Reading Club, a reading rewards program for elementary schools.
The schools participating in the Roo Reading Club include Kingston, Pee Dee, Conway, South Conway and Homewood elementary schools. According to the program details, for every 10 books read by kindergarten through second-graders, Kangaroo Express will reward them with a small ICEE drink and a hot dog of their choice.
Third- through fifth-graders, who typically read larger, chapter-style books, will receive a medium ICEE and a hot dog for every six books they finish. There will be no limit on how many times a student can be rewarded in the program, according to a report by TheDigitel.MyrtleBeach.
In addition, students who receive a reward will have their name put on the Roo Reading Club Wall. Each time a name is added to the wall, business at the Kangaroo Express at 3656 Highway 701 South in Conway will stop and the student will be recognized, the report stated.
The reading rewards program follows along with the c-store company's motto, "Kangaroo Kares."
