Kangaroo Express, PNC Partner on New ATM Locations

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kangaroo Express is partnering with PNC Financial Services Group to expand PNC's ATM network at its convenience stores in the area. Through an expansion of its deal with ATM owner Cardtronics Inc., PNC is giving its customers free access to 136 new ATMs in total, reported the Charlotte Business Journal.

PNC customers in the Charlotte metropolitan region will now be able to access ATMs in 51 Kangaroo Express stores in North Carolina and 12 in South Carolina, as well as 66 CVS pharmacies in North Carolina. The new ATMs are located in Charlotte or surrounding areas, including Gaston, Cabarrus and York counties.

"PNC is always looking for innovative ways to make banking easier and more convenient for our customers," said Shirley Edmond, PNC's retail banking manager for western Carolina. "These store locations are a great way to expand our services throughout the area and help customers to bank when and where they want."

The expanded deal also includes additional ATMs in Georgia and Alabama for a total of 391 ATMs inside Kangaroo Express, CVS and Walgreens stores in three states.

The PNC-branded Cardtronics ATM will let customers withdraw cash, transfer money and check balances.

Kangaroo Express is the main operating banner of Cary, N.C.-based The Pantry Inc.
